Terms and conditions

Last updated: 30/09/2026
These terms and conditions govern the use of siacourses.com and the purchase of training from SINMETRO. By creating an account or making a purchase, you accept these terms.

1. Provider

SIA Courses is operated by SINMETRO – Sistemas de Inovação em Qualidade e Metrologia, Lda., NIF 505980967, registered office at Rua dos Costas, Lote 19, Loja 74, R/C, Marrazes 2415-567 Leiria, Portugal, a DGERT-certified training entity. Contact: info@siacourses.com.

2. Services

SIA Courses offers:

  • self-paced online courses and learning programmes;
  • live online workshops and webinars;
  • official ACCEPT software training;
  • tailor-made training and private Learning Hubs for companies.
Some courses use digital avatars as presenters. The content is developed by SINMETRO's trainers and consultants.

3. Account

You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials confidential. Accounts are personal and may not be shared. You are responsible for all activity carried out under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

4. Access to courses

After payment is confirmed, you receive access to the purchased course for the access period indicated on its course page at the time of purchase, which varies by course (for example, lifetime, 6 months or 3 months). The access period starts on the date of purchase. Lifetime access means access for as long as the course is available on SIA Courses. If a course is withdrawn, we will give at least 30 days' notice. Access is granted for individual, non-commercial use. We may update course content to keep it accurate and relevant, without reducing its essential learning outcomes.

5. Live workshops and webinars

Live sessions take place on the date and time shown on the event page, through Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet. Sessions may be recorded, and recordings are available only to registered participants. If a session is cancelled or rescheduled by SIA, participants may attend the new date or receive a full refund. Recording or redistributing live sessions without written authorisation is not allowed.

6. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in euros (€). Training services provided by SINMETRO are VAT-exempt under the applicable Portuguese VAT rules, unless stated otherwise. Payments are processed securely through Shopify. An invoice is issued for each purchase using the billing details provided at checkout.

7. Right of withdrawal and refunds

Consumers in the European Union have the right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days, without giving any reason. For digital content, such as online courses, this right is lost once access to the content begins, provided you gave your express consent and acknowledged this loss at checkout.

For live workshops, cancellations made up to 7 days before the session are refunded in full.

To request a withdrawal or refund, email info@siacourses.com with your order number.
Purchases made by companies for professional purposes are not covered by consumer withdrawal rights and follow the conditions of the respective proposal or contract.

8. Company registrations and Learning Hubs

Companies can register several participants for live workshops. Group discounts are shown on the registration page. The company is responsible for providing correct participant details and for informing participants that their data will be shared with SINMETRO. Learning Hubs and tailor-made training are governed by a specific proposal or contract, which prevails over these terms in case of conflict.

9. Certificates

A certificate of completion can be requestes when you meet the completion criteria of each course. DGERT-certified training certificates are issued only when attendance and assessment requirements are met and the identification data required by law has been provided.

10. Intellectual property

All content on SIA Courses, including videos, texts, exercises, templates and trademarks, belongs to SINMETRO or its licensors. You may use it only for your own learning. You may not copy, download, resell, distribute or share it, or use it to train artificial intelligence models, without written authorisation.

11. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • share your access with other people;
  • interfere with the security or operation of the platform;
  • post unlawful, offensive or misleading content in chats, comments or forums;
  • use automated tools to extract content from the website.

We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.

12. Liability

Our training is provided for educational purposes. We are not liable for decisions or results arising from the application of the content in your organisation. We make every effort to keep the platform available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

13. Personal data

Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

14. Changes

We may update these terms. The version in force on the date of purchase applies to that purchase.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Portuguese law. In the event of a consumer dispute, you may use the alternative dispute resolution entity https://www.cniacc.pt/pt. More information is available at www.consumidor.gov.pt. You may also submit a complaint through the Electronic Complaints Book (www.livroreclamacoes.pt). This does not affect the mandatory rights granted to consumers by the law of their country of residence.
